Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Howard Johnson by Wyndham near Kolkata Airport receives significant praise for its strategic location. The hotel's proximity to the airport makes it an ideal choice for overnight and transit travelers. Guests appreciate the quick and easy access to the airport and nearby amenities like City Centre 2 mall and Spencer's Hyper Store. Though initially hard to find due to its placement away from the main road, the locality is described as nice, quiet and enhancing the overall stay experience.
Breakfast at the hotel garners mixed reactions. While many guests enjoy the delicious and wide-ranging breakfast spread, featuring quality fresh juice and a convenient start time of 7 am, others feel the variety is lacking, some items are stale and the overall quality does not meet expectations. Despite this, the hotel's food, cleanliness and efficient staff receive positive remarks with guests particularly appreciating the room service.
Rooms at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham are generally clean and comfortable, offering a peaceful atmosphere suitable for short stays. However, many guests find the rooms very small, often describing them as suffocating and congested. Some report issues with unpleasant smells, cleanliness and minor maintenance problems, suggesting that the hotel is more suited for brief stays rather than longer durations requiring more space and meticulous upkeep.
Cleanliness is another area with mixed feedback. Many guests commend the clean and tidy rooms and the promptness of the staff. However, several issues are raised, including partially clean bathrooms, smelly towels and poor maintenance practices. Instances like unsealed complimentary items and stained toilets indicate a need for more rigorous cleaning protocols to ensure consistent hygiene standards.
The hotel's staff receives predominantly positive feedback for their excellent service, friendliness and courteous behavior. Guests frequently highlight the attentiveness and supportive nature of the restaurant and front desk staff, contributing to a warm and welcoming experience. However, a few guests report rude behavior, slow service and an occasional lack of attention to customer needs, suggesting room for improvement in staff responsiveness and attentiveness.
Overall, Howard Johnson by Wyndham near Kolkata Airport offers a convenient and comfortable stay, particularly for short-term guests needing airport access. While the hotel excels in location, staff friendliness and general comfort, some areas like room size, breakfast quality and consistent cleanliness require attention to improve the overall guest experience.
