Paradise Bay Resort on Oahu offers a unique and tranquil retreat with its serene residential location by a bay. The stunning natural beauty, including breathtaking views of the bay and mountains from terraces, balconies and waterfront cottages, sets the stage for relaxation and exploration. The resort serves as a perfect base for visiting the East Coast and North areas of the island, although a car is usually necessary. It's noted for its peaceful seclusion, providing a refreshing break from bustling Honolulu and Waikiki, enhanced by lush jungle-like surroundings.
Breakfast at the resort garners mixed feelings. Many guests enjoy the complimentary offerings of coffee, tea, banana bread and fruit, appreciating them as a pleasant start to the day. However, the lack of a full breakfast service due to COVID-19 protocols and the absence of nearby breakfast options are seen as drawbacks.
Dinner options at Paradise Bay Resort are limited to self-catering with kitchenettes in the rooms, as the resort does not have an operational restaurant or bar. This setting encourages guests to create their own dining experiences amidst the picturesque environment, although some may miss on-site dining facilities.
The rooms at the resort generally exceed expectations with their comfort, spaciousness and outstanding views. They are particularly praised for cleanliness, recent renovations and modern amenities like private balconies and well-equipped kitchenettes. However, some guests have reported issues with their accommodations not matching the photos, including dated decor and maintenance concerns. Despite these occasional setbacks, most guests find the rooms to be a comfortable and relaxing base.
Cleanliness is another point of mixed feedback. While many appreciate the overall cleanliness and pleasant atmosphere, others point out inconsistent housekeeping standards with occasional dust, sticky floors or lack of regular cleaning being mentioned.
The staff at Paradise Bay Resort are a highlight, consistently praised for their friendliness, helpfulness and personalized service. Front desk personnel are particularly noted for their welcoming demeanor and informative guidance, greatly enhancing the guest experience.
WiFi at the resort is generally reliable with positive feedback, although some guests experienced occasional connectivity issues. The gym, while small, is well-regarded for its basic equipment and efficient air conditioning, complementing the wide range of recreational amenities like the pool, hot tub and free yoga sessions on a floating dock.
The pool area is another serene spot, well-maintained and perfect for relaxation, despite some mentions of occasional closures and maintenance needs. Parking is convenient but comes with a daily fee, which some guests find excessive given the resort's remote location.
Lastly, Paradise Bay Resort is a family-friendly destination offering various activities, including free use of kayaks and small kitchenettes in the rooms. Although the resort does have uneven walkways and many stairs, it is overall suitable for families and couples seeking a peaceful and scenic escape. Most guests report restful nights on comfortable beds, frequently referring to the bedding as exceptionally soft and luxurious.
Overall, Paradise Bay Resort is highly valued for its serene and beautiful setting, friendly service and comfortable accommodations, making it a favored choice for a tranquil Hawaiian retreat.
