Pearle Beach Resort & Spa seemingly struggles to meet the expectations associated with its four-star rating. Guests consistently express dissatisfaction with the hotel's claim to four stars, indicating it aligns more closely with a three-star establishment. The breakfast buffet, often a hallmark of upscale hotels, falls short here, with patrons noting its subpar quality and limited offerings. The hotel's distance from the city center, coupled with the challenging road conditions, particularly at night, adds to the inconvenience. The cleanliness of the hotel is also a concern, with troubling reports of dirty linens. Overall, while Pearle Beach Resort & Spa is a four-star hotel in name, many guests find it lacking in value and quality.

La Pirogue Mauritius, one of the island's oldest resorts, presents a mixed picture for travelers seeking a four-star experience. While the accommodation at times provided a sense of luxury, several guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the overall quality compared to newer offerings on the island. Concerns primarily centered around the value and quality in relation to the hotel's four-star rating, with many pointing out that the rooms were smaller than expected for this category, and the price of meals and beverages, particularly table water, felt disproportionately high. Despite these drawbacks, the food received commendable mentions; guests appreciated the excellent taste, though some noted a lack of variety in the buffet options available for breakfast and dinner. Overall, while La Pirogue has aspects to cherish, guests seeking conventional four-star standards may find it does not fully meet their expectations.
