The pool was warm and amazing with sun beds, umbrellas and cabanas that were well looked after. The location and amenities of the pool were very convenient and the BBQ area was excellent. Guests enjoyed swim-out rooms, the heated lagoon and the relaxing ambiance of the pool area. However, some guests found the pool a bit cold and some experienced some maintenance issues and building noise. Despite these minor issues, the pool and premises were outstanding, making it an excellent choice for a holiday getaway.

Guests can enjoy free use of bikes, DVDs, beach seats and cool boxes. It's the perfect place to chill and relax by the pool with plenty of towels, beach towels and pool floaties provided. A separate area for swimming in the sea is also available at the nearby beautiful large beach. Although the pool may be small, the hotel did the most they could with the space, keeping it in great condition and a perfect temperature. Guests can also enjoy the pool at night for a dip. The hotel offers many free utensils for the pool and beach and the extra features are amazing. However, it could get crowded at times, especially with children screaming and whinging in the pool. Good under cover parking is available, but there is no shade by the pool. Nevertheless, the fantastic location overlooking the beach, open reception area and all the extras make By The Sea Port Douglas a fantastic choice for your holiday.

Overall, the Meridian at Port Douglas is a lovely hotel with excellent staff, a gorgeous pool and spa and a clean facility that is highly recommended for a perfect holiday.

The stunning main pool is beautiful, excellent, incredible and great with a lovely layout and amazing landscaping. The pool facilities and pools are magnificent with a terrific pool area and an awesome rooftop spa and lagoon pool. Guests loved the beautiful tropical garden, stunning lagoon-style pool and the biggest pool they've ever seen. Direct beach access adds to the convenience of guests. Families with kids loved the pool, although some noted that during peak times, it could get noisy and full of screaming children. However, the resort pool is generally lovely and fabulous with friendly and helpful pool bar staff serving great cocktails. Despite some drawbacks like the lack of pool chairs and cleanliness issues, the pool and pool bar still managed to be a highlight of the resort stay, making it one of the best resort pools anywhere.
