The beach is very close to the hotel, making it easy to walk to and centrally located to restaurants and other attractions. While some guests wished there was more beach area for smaller children, it was still considered a lovely place to stay. Shade is offered nearby on the small beach, but some found it to be too small. Overall, the hotel's proximity to the beach, nearby attractions and attentive staff made for an excellent stay. However, some guests were disappointed that outside food and coolers were not allowed on the beach and there were no beach chairs provided. The hotel was also criticized for not changing the sheets daily. Despite these drawbacks, Santarena Hotel at Las Catalinas is a beautiful place to enjoy the city and Playa Danta.
