Former Castle HotelSchlosshotel Ralswiek was initially built between 1894 and 1896 by Count Douglas, with the gardens and some other parts being added or extended upon a bit later. After WWII, the castle was used as a home for the elderly and as a nursing home for the disabled by the German Red Cross. The castle was purchased by its current owners at the end of the 1990s and began renovations in order to turn it into the majestic castle hotel that it is today. Apart from its immense history, the castle hotel also contains some authentic furniture from the 19th century, which add to the period atmosphere that it emanates.
