Oaks Perth Hotel enjoys a premier location in the heart of Perth, offering easy access to the city's main attractions, transport hubs and vibrant shopping and dining scenes. Its proximity to essential amenities and public transportation, including the free Red Cat bus service, makes it highly convenient for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel's quiet yet central setting provides a peaceful retreat despite being amidst the bustling activity of the city, delivering excellent value for money with its top-tier location, friendly service, spacious rooms and modern amenities.
Guests have mixed feelings about the breakfast experience. While many laud the offerings as delicious and excellent value for money, especially the pre-booked breakfast at a reduced price of $20, there are consistent mentions of cold or stale food, minimal vegan options and a limited variety of items. Despite this, attentive and cheerful staff elevate the breakfast experience and the availability of a kitchenette in the room offers a convenient alternative.
The dining experience at the onsite restaurant varies. Some guests find the meals enjoyable and appreciate the happy hour at the bar, but service is noted as slow and the restaurant's limited operating hours pose a challenge. Despite these drawbacks, the convenience of having a restaurant onsite for breakfast and the presence of nearby dining options somewhat mitigate these inconveniences.
The spacious and clean rooms are a highlight, often equipped with kitchenettes and large bathrooms. They cater well to families and long-term stays, though a few guests mention issues with dated decor, soundproofing and occasional maintenance lapses. Overall, the rooms are cozy and provide the necessary conveniences for a pleasant stay.
Cleanliness is a strongpoint, frequently praised in reviews for well-maintained rooms and spotless bathrooms, though sporadic issues like dusty linens and unclean surfaces occasionally arise. On the whole, accommodations are found to be clean, fresh and inviting, contributing to a comfortable stay.
The staff receive high praise for their friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism. Positive interactions with the staff greatly enhance the guest experience, although there are occasional reports of inconsistent behavior and poor communication. Nevertheless, the overall sentiment towards the staff is favorable.
WiFi at the hotel is generally appreciated for being fast and reliable, though some guests experience poor connections and slow speeds. The availability of free WiFi remains a notable perk despite these occasional issues. Tech amenities like small TVs and the lack of USB ports are minor inconveniences for some guests.
Parking receives mixed reviews with convenient options nearby, but the lack of on-site parking and associated high costs are frequent points of frustration. Security concerns in nearby car parks and limited street parking add to the inconvenience.
Oaks Perth Hotel offers a family-friendly atmosphere with helpful staff and suitable amenities, though family rooms can be tight and accessibility challenges exist for those with disabilities. The location is convenient for elderly guests, making it a suitable choice for families seeking a welcoming stay in Perth.
The proximity to nightlife and dining options is a draw for many guests, although the noise from nearby nightclubs and bars can disturb light sleepers. Despite the potential for noise, the hotel's location provides convenient access to the vibrant nightlife of Perth.
The beds receive mixed reviews. While many guests find them comfortable and conducive to a good night's sleep, others report issues with softness, sagging or hard mattresses. Super-comfy and large king-size beds are a notable positive for many, though.
In summary, Oaks Perth Hotel offers a central and convenient location, spacious and clean rooms and friendly service, making it an ideal base for exploring Perth. However, guests should be mindful of potential issues with dining service, parking, noise from nearby nightlife and the variability in bed comfort.
