The 'Porto Palácio Hotel by The Editory' offers a spa experience that has received mixed feedback from its guests. Many visitors have praised the spa area for being very pleasant and fine, highlighting amenities like a heated pool, quality steam room and the availability of a range of spa services. Certain aspects, such as the in-room treatments and the overall comfort, have received commendation.
However, several reviews pointed out areas that need improvement. Guests noted that the spa is outdated with some equipment being in poor condition and facilities occasionally malfunctioning. There's a consensus that the spa requires renovation to meet the expectations of a 5-star hotel. Issues like dirty pool edges, moldy walls and poorly maintained amenities were also mentioned.
The structure of the spa with separate areas for men and women, can be inconvenient for couples wanting to enjoy the experience together. Additionally, the requirement to buy and wear headcaps and the limited opening hours until 5.30pm were seen as drawbacks. The experience is further marred by extra charges for access and certain facilities, which left some guests feeling that the spa was not a good value for money.
Despite these criticisms, the spa's ambiance and the professionalism of the staff have been positively noted. The top-floor bar/terrace with a view enhances the overall appeal of the hotel. While the spa experience at Porto Palácio Hotel has its highs and lows, it remains a notable feature of the establishment, particularly appealing to those seeking relaxation with a panoramic view of the city.

HF Ipanema Park presents a well-rounded experience catering to various traveler needs and preferences, particularly through its strong points and satisfactory services.
The hotel's location offers a peaceful environment slightly removed from the central city chaos, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking tranquility. It balances convenience with nearby bus stops, taxis, Uber services, supermarkets and dining options, facilitating easy and economical access to both the city center and the coastline. However, some guests noted safety concerns and an industrial ambiance in the surrounding neighborhood.
Breakfast at HF Ipanema Park is largely celebrated for its variety and quality with guests enjoying a generous spread that includes savory and sweet items and even sparkling wine. Although some guests felt it could be more varied and less repetitive, it generally offers good value and starts the day on a positive note.
The dinner experience, however, has mixed reviews. While the menu is varied and some guests find the food delicious, others believe it does not meet the five-star standard due to its high cost, limited variety and the presence of basic options like frozen pizza. The dining atmosphere and service also received varied feedback, suggesting room for improvement to meet higher expectations.
The rooms are frequently praised for their spaciousness, comfort and modern amenities, making for a pleasant stay. Beautiful views and well-lit interiors contribute positively as well. Yet, issues with thin walls, noise levels and some outdated decor indicate areas where updates could enhance guest comfort.
Cleanliness is a strong suit for the hotel with most guests appreciating spotless rooms and well-maintained public areas. Occasional lapses in specific locations or minor inconsistencies in service do exist but do not overshadow the overall high hygiene standards.
The staff at HF Ipanema Park generally receive positive feedback for their friendliness, helpfulness and multilingual abilities, especially the doorman, restaurant staff and chambermaids. Some mixed experiences with the reception staff show inconsistency, but overall, the wide commendations enhance the hotel’s welcoming atmosphere.
Wi-Fi connectivity at the hotel is another highlight with many guests finding it reliable and fast, suitable for both leisure and business needs. Although occasional slowdowns were noted, they are not frequent enough to majorly impact the positive experience.
The gym service includes essential cardio equipment and is well-maintained, but it is small and lacks a variety of fitness options, which could be a drawback for guests seeking extensive workout facilities. The limited equipment and space often lead to a less satisfactory experience during peak times.
Pool amenities are appreciated for their diverse offerings, including an indoor pool, a rooftop pool with stunning city views and a bar. However, the small size of both pools and occasional overcrowding reduces the overall experience. A few maintenance concerns were mentioned, but features like the rooftop pool's ambiance remain popular.
Lastly, parking at the hotel is secure and practical with an underground garage catering to electric vehicles. The downside is the additional daily charge, which many guests find pricey and not always justified due to limited space availability.
In summary, HF Ipanema Park is valued for its peaceful location, comfortable rooms, excellent cleanliness, friendly staff and good Wi-Fi. While breakfast is mostly positive, dinner and certain amenities like the gym and pools have areas needing improvement. Addressing these aspects could elevate the hotel's overall guest experience to truly match its five-star aspirations.
