The Holiday Inn Express Kettering by IHG, is highly regarded for its prime location, excellent cleanliness and friendly staff. Its position near major roads and highways provides easy access to various destinations such as Rushton Hall and Santa Pod Raceway, making it ideal for event-goers and travelers. The peaceful environment due to its quiet area, along with nearby amenities like a steakhouse and supermarket, enhances the convenience for guests, though it is a bit removed from the town center.
The hotel’s breakfast receives widespread acclaim for its variety and quality, offering a range of options from fruits and cereals to cooked items with personal service for dietary requests. Although some noted occasional issues like overcooked items or limited veggie options, the general sentiment is that breakfast is satisfactory and good value.
Dinner options at the hotel receive mixed feedback; while praised for being tasty and value for money, the limited dinner menu led some guests to prefer the nearby Miller & Carter Steakhouse. The takeaway option available at the hotel adds flexibility for dining preferences.
Rooms at the hotel are celebrated for their cleanliness, spaciousness and comfort, featuring contemporary décor and essential amenities. Minor maintenance issues and room temperature inconsistencies were mentioned, but most guests find the rooms meet their needs adequately. Beds are generally described as comfortable, though some find the double beds small and sofa beds uncomfortable for children.
Cleanliness across the hotel is notably high with frequent mentions of spotless rooms and communal areas. The staff, particularly at reception, are highlighted for their friendliness and efficiency with specific members like Lucy receiving individual praise. Their welcoming attitude significantly enhances the guest experience.
Guests appreciate the extensive free parking space, contributing to a hassle-free stay. While the free wifi offered faces criticism for connectivity and security issues, these are seen as minor inconveniences compared to the overall positive experience.
The hotel is family-friendly with accommodating staff and suitable facilities for children, though room sizes may pose challenges for larger families. For business travelers, the hotel's location, conference facilities and efficient check-in/out processes make it a practical choice.
Overall, the Holiday Inn Express Kettering meets the expectations of a three-star property, delivering comfort, cleanliness and convenience in a budget-friendly package.
