This moated castle was built in 1550 as a safe haven for Georg von Closen and his wife, Barbara von Nothaft. Throughout the years, it was used as a residence, a brewery and for agricultural use during the Second World War. From 2007 and later, the rooms were rebuilt and the whole facility was expanded. Thanks to its modern elegance, the castle courtyard and the ballroom are popular spots for events and weddings.
