Hotel El Haya receives strong praise from travelers particularly for its strategic and convenient location, especially benefiting those using nearby ferry ports or traveling between regions. Easily accessible due to its placement along major highways and thoroughfares, it serves as a practical stopover for journeyers, notably those on the Camino del Norte. Although the setting may seem industrial with surroundings like gas stations and trucker cafes, the convenience, logistical advantages and proximity to local dining compensates well.
The hotel is noted for providing a noteworthy breakfast experience starting early, which suits early risers and pilgrims. Guests commend the variety and quality of food with particular mentions of savory options like potato omelette. However, some find the breakfast basic, akin to gas station offerings and noted the chaotic ambiance. Nevertheless, the early starting time and inclusive nature of the breakfast service are well-appreciated overall.
For dinner, Hotel El Haya offers good value with generous portions and well-reviewed quality, particularly in the evening meals. The restaurant's 'menu del dia' is extended until 16:00 and is often highlighted positively by guests for its simplicity and richness. Despite a few mentions of inconsistent quality and dissatisfaction with specific items, the majority of feedback on dining remains favorable.
The rooms at Hotel El Haya stand out for their spaciousness, cleanliness and modern design. Guests frequently mention the stylish decor, comfortable beds and well-maintained conditions. Despite occasional issues with noise, the rooms are generally quiet and provide serene views, contributing to a comfortable stay. The high standard of cleanliness is consistently praised with diligent cleaning staff ensuring immaculate environments, although a few isolated incidents of uncleanliness were reported.
Staff at Hotel El Haya are one of its strongest assets with consistent commendations for their friendliness, attentiveness and professionalism. The reception staff, in particular, receive specific praise for their excellent service. Despite the occasional rushed service, guests commonly feel well-treated and welcome.
The bedding is another highlight with guests frequently raving about the comfort of the mattresses and pillows. Some minor issues with bed size for taller guests were noted, but these are overshadowed by widespread positive feedback regarding overall comfort and quality.
For business travelers, the hotel proves to be practical, offering 24-hour reception, ample parking and a location that's easy to access. The rooms are functional and clean, making it suitable for those needing a restful night during transit or for a brief stay.
Though Hotel El Haya strives to accommodate guests with disabilities, the lack of an elevator and the steep hill leading to the hotel pose challenges. Despite these obstacles, the hotel remains bustling and accessible to a wide range of travelers, resonating strongly with its practical, convenient and value-driven appeal. Overall, Hotel El Haya stands out for its strategic location, excellent staff, clean and comfortable rooms and practical dining options, making it a solid choice for travelers in need of convenience and good value.
