Castle
The tower was built in 1590 as a finishing touch to the city's fortification. However in 1888, it was burnt down and was rebuilt in 1901 with its current fantastical appearance and oriels after receiving the right to accommodate guests. This fairytale-like castle gives you a magnificent view of the beautiful Lake Lucerne and the frosty tips of Central Switzerland's Mountain Range as you half-expect dragons to fly in the distance.

Castle
Schloss Wartegg was the ancestral seat of the Blarer von Wartensee family. It was constructed in 1557 under Kaspar Blarer von Wartensee, bailiff of Arbon and serving the diocese of Constance. Throughout the centuries it changed hands, and with it, states of decay. It was beautifully renovated in 1994 and turned into a hotel in 1998. Now you can stay at the first Swiss Historic Hotel in Eastern Switzerland while admiring the beautiful landscape and Lake Constance.
