Toyoko Inn Cebu is widely recognized for its convenient and strategic location in Mandaue, offering easy access to Cebu City and Mactan International Airport. The hotel's proximity to J Center Mall provides numerous dining and shopping options, making it especially convenient for visits to the immigration bureau or the Land Transport office. Although some guests mention that accessing the hotel entrance can be a bit challenging, the overall positioning is excellent for both business and leisure travelers.
The breakfast experience at Toyoko Inn Cebu receives mixed reviews. Guests appreciate the wide variety and delicious flavors of the buffet breakfast with the inclusion of breakfast being a notable convenience. However, some suggest that an alternating menu with American and local Filipino dishes would enhance the experience. Despite concerns about limited choices and occasionally cold items, the breakfast area is clean, contributing positively to the overall meal experience.
Rooms at Toyoko Inn Cebu are praised for their cleanliness and comfort. Equipped with Japanese-style toilets, kettles, mini fridges and bathtubs, the rooms provide a quiet and comfortable retreat. Although some guests mention that room and bathroom sizes can feel small, the rooms' peaceful atmosphere and practical amenities largely compensate for this. The lack of daily room cleaning—service is provided every three days—along with occasional issues with the elevators, are noted drawbacks, but they do not significantly detract from the positive experience.
The hotel's exceptional cleanliness is a standout feature with rooms described as very clean and tidy. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness further enhance the stay, despite occasional remarks about the demeanor of certain staff members. Japanese-style bidets and various complimentary items add to the appeal and align with the high standards of Japanese hospitality.
Guests consistently praise the staff for their courteous and accommodating nature. Friendly, polite and always smiling, the employees contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring quick responses to requests and offering helpful services. The guards and reception staff are particularly noted for their approachable demeanor and efficiency.
Feedback on the beds is mixed with many finding them comfortable and clean, while others feel the mattresses are quite hard. Nonetheless, the overall cleanliness and attentive service maintain the hotel's positive reputation.
Overall, Toyoko Inn Cebu offers a reliable and commendable option for travelers, reflected by regular guests who appreciate the clean rooms, courteous staff and convenient location. The hotel's value for money, along with the convenience of making reservations through booking platforms, underscores its appeal. Despite some minor criticisms, the hotel's positive aspects make it a favored choice for many visitors.
