Grand Hotel Pianeta Maratea Resort impresses its guests primarily with its stunning location and remarkable views. Perched high in the mountains, the hotel offers breathtaking panoramic vistas of the bay and the Gulf of Policastro, making it a tranquil retreat that still allows easy access to the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue and the historic town of Maratea. The serene setting with access to a spacious pool and evening entertainment is frequently praised, though the hotel's isolation can be a downside for those seeking evening activities outside the resort.
The breakfast service at the hotel is appreciated for its ample selection and diverse options that cater to various dietary preferences, highlighted by a buffet style that includes fresh regional produce. While some guests note areas for improvement, such as variety and quality of savory items, the overall experience is positive and the setting, particularly on the terrace, adds to the enjoyment.
The dining experience presents a mix of feedback. The à la carte restaurant is praised for its quality dishes and vegetarian options, alongside professional service. However, there are concerns regarding the limited menu, lack of healthy choices and occasionally subpar buffet dinners. Despite these issues, the courteous staff and good cuisine are often acknowledged.
Rooms at the resort are noted for being spacious, clean and offering beautiful sea views. The professional upkeep and daily tidying of the rooms contribute positively. Although the decor and bathrooms are described as somewhat dated, the spectacular views and cleanliness compensate for this to many guests.
Cleanliness across the resort is frequently commended with spotless common areas and meticulously maintained facilities. The attentive housekeeping staff ensures a high standard of hygiene, making for a pleasant and comfortable stay.
The staff at Grand Hotel Pianeta Maratea Resort receives high praise for their friendliness, attentiveness and professionalism, significantly contributing to the welcoming atmosphere and overall positive experience. Guests highlight the exceptional service provided by the team, making their stay memorable.
While the Wi-Fi service is inconsistent with strong connectivity mainly restricted to the pool area, the pool itself stands out as a highlight. The Olympic-sized pool, complemented by a poolside bar and breathtaking views, offers a relaxing and clean environment.
The resort's parking options are well-regarded with ample and conveniently located spaces that cater to various needs. This convenience is especially appreciated during events, despite occasional challenges.
Family facilities at the resort are ideal with spacious rooms, child-friendly pools and engaging entertainment for children, making it a welcoming place for families. The acceptance of pets and the family-oriented amenities ensure a positive vacation experience for all.
Beds at the resort receive mixed reviews. Many guests find them comfortable, though some report issues with mattress quality and comfort.
Overall, Grand Hotel Pianeta Maratea Resort offers a beautiful and serene location, dedicated service and essential amenities, making it an appealing choice particularly for families and those seeking a peaceful retreat. Nonetheless, areas such as room updates and Wi-Fi coverage could benefit from improvement to fully meet its four-star status.
