Garner Hotel Maastricht by IHG provides an experience that doesn't quite align with the expectations of a traditional four-star hotel. While the decor and room condition seem to fall short of the four-star standard, the establishment does offer good value for a city trip and is reasonably priced when considering its location and services. Several guests have commented positively on aspects such as friendly staff, clean and well-maintained rooms, and convenient parking right at the door. The quality of the food is good, and breakfast, though simple and limited, has been appreciated by some visitors. Despite the discrepancies between the perceived star rating and the actual experience, when compared to the pricing, guests have noted a fair price-performance ratio for their stay. The hotel provides an excellent stay for those looking for a city break, with some guests enjoying the room comfort and excellent service during their time at the hotel. Overall, while it may not meet all the criteria of a typical four-star establishment, Garner Hotel is still considered by many to be a good choice for travelers seeking convenience and friendly service.

Dormio Wijnhotel Valkenburg offers an excellent location for those looking to explore the scenic beauty of South Limburg and Maastricht, making it a prime spot for cycling enthusiasts. While the hotel boasts a beautiful location close to the center, some reviewers noted that the atmosphere felt lacking, with major decorations being limited to plastic plants and a sense of imposed politeness from the staff. A highlight for guests was the wine-dine event featuring Dutch wines, which came highly recommended for its unique offering.
Despite having elements that deliver a four-star experience, there are areas where the hotel falls short of expectations for its advertised rating. Guests pointed out the need for urgent renovations, particularly in the outdated rooms and bathrooms. The monoblock air conditioning unit was described as noisy, impacting comfort.
Overall, while Dormio Wijnhotel Valkenburg offers certain exceptional aspects, such as its strategic location and appealing wine-dine event, the hotel is perceived by some to more closely align with a three-star standard rather than the advertised four-star level.

Wellnesshotel Thermae 2000 is a four-star resort that generally maintains an organized and clean environment. Though the classification suggests a certain standard, some reviews indicate that expectations were not fully met in various aspects. While the rooms were noted to be neat, the consensus hints they fell short of the four-star rating.
The food and breakfast offered did not meet international standards expected from a four-star establishment with one particular mention of limited juice options that were overly sour. Additionally, the service provided did not align with what is typically anticipated at this rating level.
Despite these issues, there were positive mentions of the hospitality at the sauna, which appears to be a notable feature. However, amenities such as towels, bathrobes and slippers were reportedly not included, which detracts from the overall experience. A minor inconvenience noted was the limited space available for smokers. Overall, while Wellnesshotel Thermae 2000 has several commendable features, it appears that certain facilities and services could benefit from improvement to truly align with its four-star rating.
