Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Bonnie Castle Resort & Marina offers a blend of attractive features and areas for improvement, creating a mixed but generally favorable guest experience. The resort's location in Alexandria Bay is frequently praised, providing stunning river views, particularly of Boldt Castle, along with mesmerizing sunsets. This waterfront positioning offers easy access to local attractions, restaurants and bars, making it convenient for visitors. The scenic beauty and easy access to various activities contribute significantly to guest satisfaction.
Guest reviews highlight the resort's friendly and helpful staff, who consistently ensure a welcoming and accommodating environment. The front desk and marina staff receive particular commendation for their courteous and efficient service. Many guests also appreciate the resort's serene and picturesque atmosphere, as well as the cleanliness of some rooms and common areas.
However, the breakfast offerings at Bonnie Castle Resort & Marina receive mixed feedback. While guests appreciate the selection of cold breakfast items and the quality of brunch, many mention the absence of hot breakfast options and the lack of an included breakfast as areas needing improvement. The restaurant, although praised for its quality, is sometimes understaffed, resulting in limited menu availability.
The rooms at the resort present a varied experience. While guests enjoy the comfortable beds, clean towels and recent updates in some rooms, many note that the accommodations are dated and in need of refurbishment. Issues such as loud air conditioning, dampness and deteriorating bathrooms are common concerns. Despite these drawbacks, room cleanliness and features like waterfront views and jacuzzi tubs are positively highlighted.
Cleanliness throughout the property is another area where guest experiences differ. Some visitors find their rooms clean and well-maintained with comfortable beds and readily available hot water. Nevertheless, numerous reviews mention problems such as dirty rooms, moldy carpets, bugs and neglected public areas, indicating a need for better housekeeping and maintenance practices.
The resort's pools, both indoor and outdoor, receive generally positive remarks. Guests appreciate the cleanliness and pleasant ambiance of these facilities, although some find the outdoor pool location inconvenient and suggest extending pool hours. The comfortable and relaxing in-room jacuzzis also add to the positive experience for many guests, although maintenance and cleanliness issues are occasionally reported.
Overall, while Bonnie Castle Resort & Marina shines with its prime location, scenic beauty and friendly staff, it faces challenges related to outdated facilities, cleanliness and some service aspects. With attention to these areas, the resort has the potential to enhance the overall guest experience significantly.
