This hostel provides the advantage of a complimentary breakfast, which, although simple, consists of toast and spreads with tea or coffee, adding value and convenience to the stay. Guests have also enjoyed the free bike and board rentals, adding to the appeal of this location.
The accommodation options at 1770 Beachside Backpacker & Motel include cozy and spacious rooms, with family rooms being particularly noted for their cleanliness and comfort. While some areas might feel a bit outdated, the standard of comfort generally meets guest expectations. Cleanliness is visibly maintained in communal areas like the kitchen, though there are occasional inconsistencies in the rooms and bathrooms that could benefit from attention.
A welcoming atmosphere is fostered by the hostel's staff, who are frequently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. Individuals such as Greg and Emma, along with the attentive owner, contribute significantly to a positive guest experience through their support and local activity recommendations. Despite a few isolated instances of less attentive service, the staff is widely recognized for creating an informative and cheerful environment.
However, experiences with the beds are varied. While some guests report comfortable sleeping arrangements, others mention issues such as wobbly metal beds, sagging or overly firm mattresses, and occasional stains. Dormitory conditions are noted to be hot and stuffy by some visitors, potentially impacting the sleep quality.
Overall, 1770 Beachside Backpacker & Motel is highly regarded for its prime location, pleasant communal spaces, and genial staff, though prospective guests might consider the mixed reviews regarding room updates and bed comfort when planning their stay.
