Common points of critique include the breakfast quality, which many felt did not meet the expectations of a four-star hotel. The coffee was also mentioned as an area needing improvement. Additionally, guests noted that certain services, like heating in the room during cold weather and the freshness of buffet items, fell short of the expected standard. Casona Plaza Hotel Arequipa has garnered mixed feedback from its guests, predominantly in relation to its four-star designation. While some expressed concerns about the upkeep of the bathroom doors and the state of European sockets, there were suggestions that enhancing the maintenance of the facade and lobby could create a more welcoming first impression. Room size and breakfast quality were recurring themes with several guests expecting more expansive accommodations and a more varied breakfast spread from a four-star establishment. Overall, the consensus leaned towards the hotel falling short of four-star expectations with several reviews likening it more to a two-star experience, citing issues like the lack of Wi-Fi and hot water. Despite these comments, guests noted that the breakfast, while basic, wasn't entirely unsatisfactory. The feedback suggests that the hotel has a strong foundation but could benefit from improvements to better meet the standards expected of a four-star rating.

San Agustin Posada del Monasterio boasts clean, modern facilities with new, fully operational amenities. Its location is highly praised with many considering it a super hotel in a prime spot. The value for the price is generally considered excellent. However, there are some critical remarks regarding its 4-star rating. Some guests feel the rooms, reminiscent of the 90s and in need of renovation, do not meet the expectations of a 4-star hotel. The breakfast is described as adequate but lacking the quality one might expect from a hotel of this category. Service experiences are notably mixed with some reports indicating dissatisfaction and unprofessional behavior from the staff.
