Howard Johnson by Wyndham Blackwood Near Philadelphia is strategically located off the highway, making it a convenient base for guests attending nearby events or visiting Philadelphia and surrounding attractions. The hotel's proximity to major destinations, Gloucester Outlets and various dining options enhances its appeal. Amenities such as free parking, a pool and complimentary breakfast add to its convenience.
The breakfast service at the hotel is valued for providing essential items like cereal, bagels, toast, yogurt, fruit and coffee. Waffle makers are particularly popular among guests. Despite suggestions for more protein options and mixed feedback on the variety and outdated breakfast area, the overall reception is positive thanks to friendly staff and cleanliness.
The rooms stand out for their spaciousness, modern fixtures and cleanliness. Recent renovations have improved their appeal, providing comfortable beds and quiet environments, particularly on the ground floor. However, there are occasional mentions of maintenance issues and lingering odors. Overall, the general experience in the rooms is favorable, marked by cleanliness and comfort.
Cleanliness throughout the property receives mixed feedback. While many guests commend the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms and bathrooms, there are notable concerns regarding dirty floors, stained carpets and neglected communal areas. Some areas, including hallways and outdoor spaces, require more attention.
The staff are a highlight of the hotel experience, frequently praised for their friendliness, courtesy and accommodating nature. Guest interactions with the front desk, management and housekeeping staff are generally positive, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
The free WiFi offered by the hotel is reported as generally good, though instances of slow speeds and intermittent connectivity are noted. Despite these issues, most guests find the WiFi service satisfactory.
The gym, though present, has been noted to be inconsistently available and the pool's availability also varies. The parking amenities are well-received with ample, convenient spaces close to guest rooms, although occasional maintenance issues in parking areas have been mentioned.
Beds at the hotel receive positive reviews for their comfort and cleanliness. Despite some guests finding variability in bed sizes and heights, along with isolated complaints about bed bugs and comfort issues, most find the bedding satisfactory.
While the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Blackwood Near Philadelphia offers spacious and clean accommodations with key amenities, it falls short of what some expect of a three-star hotel with discrepancies in value for money and appearance contributing to mixed feelings.
The jacuzzi and hot tub amenities are a standout feature, often praised for their large size and relaxing experience. Although some guests report non-functional jets and cleanliness issues, the overall feedback is positive, especially for those celebrating special occasions.
