Hotel La Laguna Spa & Golf has left many guests underwhelmed by its four-star rating with consistent feedback indicating the property does not meet typical four-star standards. Many reviewers noted that the facilities and services fail to live up to expectations with several specifically mentioning the gym's lack of a treadmill and the additional charges for access to the sauna and steam room, which are usually included in comparable hotels.
Guests also remarked that the overall decor and refurbishment of the hotel could use significant improvement to better align with a four-star experience. There were comments about the hotel's cleanliness with some finding it not as pristine as online pictures suggested.
While a few guests felt it was a good hotel with decent facilities, there was consensus that with more effort from management, the hotel could truly reflect its four-star aspirations. Ultimately, despite some positive notes, the general sentiment was that the hotel feels closer to a three-star establishment and does not sufficiently justify its higher rating or the price point.

Hotel Meridional receives mixed reviews regarding its four-star status. Many visitors feel that it does not live up to the expectations associated with a four-star rating. The common sentiment is that the quality and services need a significant improvement to truly justify its four stars. Guests noted that essential services and amenities did not meet the expected standards of such a rating. The size of the rooms and the elevator were found to be small and not reflective of a four-star experience.
Some visitors remarked that the spa facilities were overstated, pointing out that the hotel only features a jacuzzi on the roof rather than a fully-equipped spa. Additionally, the surrounding landscape did not match the advertised protected areas. There were also comments about the hotel’s service, which was found to be lacking in the standard sophistication and attention to detail typically associated with four-star establishments.
Overall, the consensus is that Hotel Meridional might be more accurately described and experienced as a good three-star hotel rather than a four-star one. The pricing, while aligned with higher-tier accommodations, did not match the level of service and amenities provided.
