Nestled in a prime location, Driftaway Hotel and Pool stands out as an ideal base for visitors exploring the Ogunquit and Wells beaches, local attractions and nearby restaurants and shops. Its strategic spot allows guests to easily access vibrant downtown Ogunquit, key attractions such as Footbridge Beach and the Ogunquit Playhouse. The hotel achieves a perfect balance between being centrally located and maintaining a peaceful ambiance, making transportation simple with nearby trolley stops and a short drive to other coastal towns like York and Kennebunkport.
While the breakfast offerings at the hotel have drawn some criticism, mainly due to a lack of substantial options beyond coffee and packaged pastries, the quality of the coffee is consistently praised. Guests often take advantage of nearby dining venues to supplement their morning meals.
Guests frequently commend the rooms for their cleanliness, comfort and spaciousness. Many rooms feature amenities like hot tubs and kitchenettes and the beds are described as highly comfortable. However, there are occasional reports of musty odors, cleanliness issues and outdated decor in some rooms.
Cleanliness across the hotel generally receives positive feedback with many guests finding the rooms and common areas well-maintained. However, there are mixed reviews regarding housekeeping services with some instances of inconsistent cleaning practices noted.
The staff at Driftaway Hotel and Pool consistently earn high marks for their friendliness, professionalism and helpfulness. The check-in and check-out processes are often smooth and specific staff members are singled out for exceptional service.
Internet connectivity is a mixed experience with some guests enjoying good speeds while others struggle with inconsistent service and poor television quality. The gym, though adequate for basic workouts, could benefit from more regular cleaning.
