Hotel Universal offers a mixed accessibility experience for guests with disabilities. The hotel features accessible bathrooms and rooms designed for wheelchair users and an elevator inside the building. However, guests frequently mentioned the challenging staircase at the entrance, which can be particularly onerous when carrying luggage. The reception, located on the second floor, requires climbing steep and narrow stairs, a significant hurdle for elderly guests and those with reduced mobility. There's also mention of an electric railing chair, although it's not clear if it's functional or consistently available.
Guests appreciate the indoor elevator once past the entrance, but note it's quite narrow. There's a ramp for those with accessibility needs, yet the journey to reception remains cumbersome. The hotel lacks on-site parking, requiring guests to utilize public parking spaces. Despite these challenges, the location and value for money are highly praised. Additionally, a reliable shuttle service to the airport is available at all hours with advance booking and an extra charge, adding a layer of convenience for travelers.
