Kids loved the hotel, but parents would have preferred more space and facilities. However, the hotel's location on the beachfront is unbeatable. While some guests complained about the noise and lack of privacy in sea-facing rooms, others were concerned with the safety of the hotel as vagrants easily gained access to rooms, making it traumatic for children. Additionally, some guests found the environment inappropriate for families as day guests were allowed to flood the pools and drink champagne throughout the day.

The hotel offers childminding facilities and went out of their way to make the stay a highlight for our children. Arrival, staff, reception, lights, sweeties for kids and welcome drinks were all wonderful touches that made my child say, "this is like in the movies." We booked two family rooms and my family loved them. The lady at reception welcomed us warmly and made my kids feel special. Despite only receiving one bath towel for our family of four, we enjoyed everything and the hotel was very accommodating to my young, sometimes loud children. If you're planning on bathing your child, note that the bathing facilities may not meet the criteria. All in all, we had a fantastic stay at Southern Sun Cape Sun with our family.
