Palace Hotel Lake Como offers a truly fantastic experience with amazing views, great service and comfortable rooms. While some guests found the decor to be a bit outdated or the bathroom in need of renovation, the overall experience was still highly enjoyable. The breakfast was good, although some guests were surprised not to find Prosecco as is typically offered in other 4-star hotels in Italy. However, one guest noted that the hotel felt more like a 5-star experience even though it only boasts a 4-star rating. While some guests felt that the hotel didn't quite live up to a 4-star standard in terms of amenities, overall the stay was still very pleasant.

Hotel Canturio appears to struggle with meeting the expectations typically associated with its 4-star rating. Guests have noted several areas where the hotel fell short, such as outdated furnishings, lack of soundproofing and limited breakfast options that didn’t include staples like bread rolls due to running out. The absence of air conditioning during the European summer also detracted from the experience. Issues with noise from an unstocked fridge and unclear communication about additional costs for in-room drinks were also cited. Despite its potential, the hotel needs significant updates and improvements to align with the standards of a 4-star establishment.

The 'Lake Como Golf Hotel' has received numerous reviews questioning its four-star rating with many guests expressing disappointment in the facility and services provided, perceiving it to be more of a two or three-star standard at best. Expectations for a four-star hotel include modern, well-maintained amenities and high-quality service, which many reviewers felt were lacking.
Comments frequently mentioned outdated and broken equipment, including non-functional elevators and the overall condition being below average for what is typically expected from a four-star hotel. The rooms did not match the advertisements, leading to accusations of false advertising. Many guests suggested that the hotel is in need of significant renovation to meet the standards implied by its rating.

Most reviewers concluded that the hotel would be more accurately described as a two or three-star establishment, emphasizing that its four-star label is misleading and unjustified.
