Royal Sun Resort, nestled in the picturesque Los Gigantes area of Tenerife, enjoys a superb location offering panoramic ocean views and serene atmosphere. Positioned high on a hill, the hotel provides breathtaking vistas of the ocean and cliffs, especially from its spacious terraces and balconies. While this elevated location ensures peace and tranquility away from bustling tourist spots, it also means that reaching the beach or city center involves a challenging walk, often necessitating a taxi for convenience. The resort's proximity to nature trails and a central position between vibrant and serene areas add to its appeal for both active and relaxation-seeking guests.
The breakfast experience at Royal Sun Resort receives high praise for its quality, variety and taste, featuring a wide selection of fresh produce, pastries, hot food items and even sparkling wine. Guests frequently describe the breakfast as superb and a highlight of their stay. Dinner options are diverse with mixed feedback on the buffet dinner but notable accolades for the Aqua restaurant's gourmet offerings. Special occasions, such as New Year's Eve, have been highlighted for spectacular dining experiences. Despite occasional remarks on the limited variety, the overall quality of the food and the attentive service contribute positively to the dining experience.
Rooms at the resort are lauded for their spaciousness, cleanliness and stunning views. Many rooms come with large terraces and modern amenities, making them ideal for families. However, some decor and furnishings are noted to be outdated. Despite this, the overall comfort, cleanliness and convenience of the rooms are frequently commended.
The resort's commitment to cleanliness is evident throughout the property. Rooms are described as impeccably clean with daily cleaning services maintaining them in pristine condition. Common areas, including the well-maintained pool, also receive positive mentions. Housekeeping staff are praised for their attentiveness and efficiency.
Staff at Royal Sun Resort are consistently praised for their friendliness, professionalism and helpfulness. Guests highlight the exceptional service provided by reception, restaurant and cleaning staff. Occasional minor issues with certain staff members are noted but seem to be exceptions.
The wifi experience at the resort is mixed; while many found it strong and reliable, some guests reported weak or unstable connections. The gym is well-equipped and praised for its quality, though occasional issues with air conditioning and accessibility charges are mentioned.
The pool area receives mixed feedback, being appreciated for its cleanliness, family-friendly amenities and attentive lifeguards. However, it is sometimes noted to be too small for the number of guests, leading to crowded conditions and occasional concerns about water cleanliness.
Feedback on the beach is generally positive with guests praising its cleanliness and spectacular views. However, its distance and the steep walk required to reach it are noted as potential drawbacks. Parking at the resort presents both advantages and challenges with a secure underground garage available but limited spaces and additional fees contributing to a mixed experience.
In summary, Royal Sun Resort offers a serene and scenic getaway with exceptional views, excellent dining experiences, well-appointed rooms and friendly, attentive staff. While there are minor areas for improvement, the overall guest experience remains highly positive, making the resort an appealing choice for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure.
