Summary of reviews related to the 'Parking' category

Guests of the Bannatyne Hotel Darlington have varying opinions of the parking facilities at the hotel. While some describe the parking as easy and ample, others found it abysmal, chaotic and difficult to manoeuvre in a small area. A wedding at the hotel also contributed to the difficulty of finding parking. Guests with larger cars found it especially hard to park. Some suggest using an alternative car park facility close to the hotel to save frustration, while others managed to park on site for the duration of their stay. The hotel provides accessible and free parking, but there is no allotted parking and guests may need to park down the street or in a council car park. Although the access to parking can be awkward and complicated to find, the location of the hotel and the ample parking provide convenience for guests who manage to find a spot.

Parking at the Mercure Darlington King's Hotel receives mixed feedback from guests with various aspects being highlighted. On the positive side, the hotel offers convenient and secure on-site parking options. For a reasonable fee, guests can enjoy the safe and affordable underground parking, which is a rare perk in such a central location. Some guests appreciated the free parking that is available under the hotel, which, when available, is considered a bonus.
However, the on-site parking is quite limited with only 21 spaces available, leading to frequent complaints about the difficulty in finding a spot. Guests with larger vehicles have found the parking spaces to be particularly tight and challenging to maneuver within. When the car park is full, guests often have to park a considerable distance away, which can be inconvenient, especially late at night. The limited availability operates on a first-come, first-served basis and it can be hard to locate the car park initially.
Alternative parking options are suggested by the hotel staff, including street parking and nearby secure lots, but these can be far or less convenient. While the cost of parking is seen as reasonable by many, some guests were dissatisfied with having to pay extra. Overall, while the parking situation has its challenges, the central location and the provision of secure parking add value to the guests' stay when spaces are available.
