The Robert Treat Hotel has received mixed reviews regarding its three-star rating, facilities and services. Many guests noted that it does not quite meet the standard of a three-star property with some describing it as more aligned with a one-star rating. Comments often highlighted that the hotel offers basic amenities but lacks the polish and service expected of a higher-rated establishment. While there were positive mentions, such as the park situated in front of the hotel being very nice and some guests recommending the hotel, others were less impressed, citing the need for better-trained front desk staff and overall improvements to amenities.
Though some found the experience passable and even exceptional, many cautioned against expecting three-star quality, especially when compared directly to other similarly rated hotels in the U.S. and worldwide. Negative feedback emphasized that the hotel may not be suitable for families with children and suggested it be seen as a place geared more towards transient visitors. Overall, while the park and some aspects of the location received praise, the consensus is that the Robert Treat Hotel falls short of its claimed three-star status.

Hampton Inn & Suites Newark-Harrison-Riverwalk offers a range of amenities that align with a three-star rating. While the facilities and services are considered basic and nothing extraordinary, the hotel meets the minimal expectations expected of a three-star establishment. It is conveniently located close to the airport, which makes it accessible, but it is situated away from the city center.
Guest reviews often overlap between describing it as an average three-star hotel and suggesting it falls short of that standard with some even comparing it to a two-star or one-star motel. The quality has reportedly declined over time and the overall feel of the hotel does not achieve the typical Hampton standard.
