Located just a short five-minute stroll from the city center, FE Gisting offers a favorable location for travelers wishing to explore local attractions. The guesthouse is housed in a tastefully furnished old townhouse, which lends a charming and historical ambiance to one's stay. Visitors particularly appreciated the spacious rooms, contrasting with more compact yet well-equipped bathrooms. The overall aesthetic of the guesthouse has been described as generally very nice, suggesting that the accommodations are pleasing in appearance and conducive to relaxation. However, some guests expressed a desire for improved cleanliness standards and a little more interaction from the hosts. Although the water system exhibited a sulfur smell that seems to be a citywide issue rather than a fault of the guesthouse, it remains a detail to be aware of. While there is no designated sitting area within the guesthouse, its close proximity to the city center compensates by providing easy access to a range of dining and entertainment options nearby.

Akureyri - Berjaya Iceland Hotels offers a somewhat polarizing experience for its guests. While it is officially rated as a three-star hotel, many travelers argue it provides four-star service with amenities and facilities that meet expectations for its category. Several reviews highlight it as an excellent place to stay at a relatively good price point for a three-star hotel, suggesting it should receive higher ratings.
The hotel features amenities in line with what one would expect from its rating, including good cafe services. The option of separate rooms offers added privacy, although some find it inconvenient. Despite these positive points, guests frequently express concerns about the cost. The nightly rate, especially exceeding 200 euros, leads many to feel the hotel is overpriced and does not offer great value for money, a sentiment felt more keenly given the general expense level in Iceland. Thus, while Akureyri - Berjaya Iceland Hotels receives praise for its service and basic facilities, it struggles to justify its price point for discerning guests.
