Despite being advertised as a five-star hotel, some aspects of 'Fox Kandy by Fox Resorts - Luxury in the Mist' fall short of that standard, particularly the rooms and bathrooms which align more with a three-star rating. However, guests frequently highlight the luxurious experience, noting that everything was extravagant and the complex offered the best amenities. The breakfast received positive remarks for being done well and the hotel did offer generous touches such as complimentary desserts.
The customer service stands out as a major positive with staff being particularly responsive and attentive to details, ensuring guests' needs and reservation changes were handled efficiently. The managers, including one named Niro, were quick to address issues and enhance the guest experience. While some areas, such as the parking and fly prevention measures, could use improvement, the hotel’s luxurious rooms and the delightful customer service left many guests impressed. Despite the mixed sentiments about its overall rating, 'Fox Kandy by Fox Resorts - Luxury in the Mist' has features that contribute to a noteworthy stay.

The Grand Kandyan is a five star hotel providing everything you would expect from such a luxurious stay. Guests have rated it 10 out of 10 and describe it as an exceptional experience, highly recommended and the overall best hotel experience they've had out of 100+ hotel stays. The service from everyone is amazing and the hospitality is truly five star. The spacious rooms offer beautiful views and guests have described their stay as superb and a perfect short break. However, some guests have expressed disappointment with the food not being up to five star standards and one unfortunate guest faced issues with the card machine not working due to the country's economic crisis, which was unexpected from a five star hotel. Overall, The Grand Kandyan exceeds expectations, providing a royal hotel experience with all the attributes of a five star hotel.
