The reviews for Magic Blue Spa Boutique Hotel Adults Only reflect a discrepancy between its advertised five-star rating and guests' experiences. While the hotel claims a five-star status, many reviewers indicate that the reality falls short, suggesting that the hotel is better suited to a three-star classification. Key areas of disappointment include the quality of the rooms and the breakfast, which were deemed mediocre for a supposed five-star establishment. Moreover, the bathroom facilities did not meet five-star expectations for several guests.
Despite the overall sentiment questioning the five-star rating, there were mentions of high-end experiences and excellent services that align with what is typically associated with five-star hotels. However, the general consensus is that while certain aspects may hint at five-star quality, the hotel's offerings do not consistently meet the standards expected of such a rating.

Capital O Mimi Del Mar in Playa del Carmen offers visitors a mixed experience, characterized by its prime beachfront location and generally friendly, helpful staff. While it's not a five-star resort, it doesn't pretend to be one, functioning more accurately as a three-star hotel.
Guests appreciate the good beds and comfortable rooms, some of which come with balconies boasting ocean views. The cleaning staff is diligent, maintaining both indoor and outdoor spaces. The hotel is situated conveniently close to night bars and popular spots, making it a cheap and accessible option for travelers.
However, numerous reviews highlight the lack of luxury services and unhelpful reception staff. The property offers basic amenities with some guests feeling misled by its advertised five-star status, often giving it two to three stars in reality. Despite this, its excellent location and friendly general staff contribute positively to the overall experience.

MAYAB Playa - 5Th. Ave boasts an unbeatable location on the vibrant 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen, placing guests right in the heart of the action. The hotel's proximity to the beach, shopping areas, dining venues and entertainment options ensures that everything is within walking distance, making it extremely convenient for exploring the area. Easy access to the ADO bus station and ferry terminal further enhances connectivity to nearby attractions like Cozumel, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable stay.
While the location is highly praised, the rooms receive mixed feedback. Though amenities such as air conditioning and TV are appreciated, numerous guests express concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. Issues such as dirty towels, unsatisfactory bathroom conditions and noise due to the hotel's central position above a bar are frequently highlighted.
Cleanliness is a recurring issue with guests reporting dirty sheets, towels and rooms, accompanied by an unpleasant odor in some cases. The presence of cockroaches and other critters, along with infrequent housekeeping, detracts from the overall stay experience. Neglected facilities, such as the pool being closed for maintenance and broken mini fridges, further indicate a need for better upkeep.
Staff interactions also vary with some guests finding certain members friendly and helpful, particularly the receptionist. However, issues such as difficulty locating front desk personnel, handling of reservations and communication barriers indicate a need for improved service delivery and communication. Incidents like long waits for check-ins and a lack of assistance with luggage highlight areas for improvement in basic hospitality services.
Despite these drawbacks, the hotel's prime location provides a significant advantage for guests looking to explore Playa del Carmen conveniently.

Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa offers an experience that some guests find falls short of the five-star standard they expect, particularly noting the arrival experience and room conditions. The resort's facilities appear more aligned with a four-star rating, as some guests observed that the buildings show signs of age, and there are issues such as humidity in the rooms that detract from the luxurious standards typically associated with a top-tier resort. However, the service provided by the staff seems to stand out, with many guests appreciating their warm and attentive treatment, feeling as though they were treated like royalty. While the resort may not consistently meet the expectations of a five-star experience in terms of infrastructure, the quality of service is a highlight that many guests cherish.
