Former Castle Hotels in Lutherstadt Eisleben

Schlosshotel Ballenstedt was initially built in 1733 as an armoury in a simple Baroque style by a prince. Later on in the same century, the castle was turned into a guesthouse for family, friends and acquaintances of the royal family and was the centre of the social life and events of the time. The castle underwent many renovation ever since, until it was turned into the luxurious and charming hotel that it is today, offering guests a unique historic experience.

With a history dating as far back as the 10th century, Schlosshotel Schkopau is an exquisite castle hotel. The castle was rebuilt in the 15th century in a Renaissance style, maintaining only its keep and its outer defensive wall. After WWII, the castle was used as a refugee shelter and it was later abandoned, until its current owners began restoring it to its former glory in 1996, to open as a luxurious hotel in 2001. Its idyllic location in the German countryside, as well as its historic and period decoration with lush furnishings and fireplaces make it ideal for a trip back in times long past.
