While mostly lovely, some guests were disappointed with basic and outdated furnishings. Despite being a nice hotel, the experience may be affected during peak wedding season when the guest areas, particularly the foyer, are constantly commandeered, resulting in long queues at the small bar. The food could be better with many plates going unfinished and the carvery was too overwhelming. Despite these shortcomings, it is a nice hotel that would suit its star rating.
