The Monte Carlo Inn & Suites Downtown Markham is praised for its highly convenient and strategic location, situated near major highways and an array of dining and shopping options. This hotel is ideal for both business and personal travel, providing easy access to Toronto's attractions and amenities without the hustle and bustle of the downtown core.
Guests consistently appreciate the spacious, clean and comfortable rooms, which are equipped with modern conveniences like mini-fridges and microwaves. Many find the decor cozy and welcoming, even though some note it can feel a bit dated. The hotel's cleanliness is often highlighted positively with housekeeping maintaining high standards in both the rooms and public areas.
The staff receives predominantly favourable reviews for their friendliness, professionalism and efficiency, particularly the reception and housekeeping teams. However, there are occasional mentions of inconsistent service quality in the restaurant and breakfast area.
The breakfast offerings have room for improvement, as reviews indicate a lack of variety and hot options. Several guests, however, find the continental breakfast adequate given the price point. The on-site restaurant garners mixed feedback with numerous guests enjoying their meals while others found the quality and variety lacking.
Free Wi-Fi is featured, though experiences vary; many find it fast and reliable, whereas some encounter connectivity issues, particularly in public areas. The gym and pool facilities add value with the gym described as clean and operational and the pool being a hit with families, though the temperature and maintenance of the pool sometimes receive critique.
Free and ample parking is a significant plus with the lot well-lit and generally perceived as safe. This, combined with the hotel's family-friendly environment, makes it suitable for guests with children, who particularly enjoy the saltwater pool and festive decorations in the lobby.
Finally, the beds are often highlighted for their comfort, contributing positively to guests' overall stay experience. Despite some minor drawbacks, such as occasional maintenance issues and limited breakfast options, the overall sentiment towards Monte Carlo Inn & Suites Downtown Markham is positive, making it a commendable choice for a comfortable and convenient stay.
