Reviews of The Municipal Hotel Liverpool - MGallery Collection reveal a mixed consensus about its five-star rating. The hotel boasts beautifully restored and decorated interiors with an exceptional and classy environment that could meet five-star standards in terms of ambiance and design. Guests described the decor as stunning and the overall quality of the hotel as luxurious. The staff, particularly Nick the manager, received high praise for exceptional service, which some guests did label as five-star.
However, many guests felt that the hotel fell short of true five-star experiences. Common complaints included the lack of basic amenities such as bathrobes and slippers, slow bar service and the need for guests to pay extra for access to the swimming pool and other facilities. The breakfast was frequently criticized for its sparse selection and perceived poor value, failing to meet guests' expectations of a five-star establishment.
While some aspects of the customer service were applauded, inconsistent housekeeping and other service shortfalls were noted. The hotel may offer a prestigious setting and stylish environment, but it lacks certain elements and efficiencies that are typically associated with a true five-star experience.
In summary, while The Municipal Hotel Liverpool - MGallery Collection presents a luxurious and visually impressive stay, it misses the mark on several key five-star service and amenity expectations, making it feel more akin to a four-star experience for many guests.
