The Rosedale Hotel is often described as meeting the typical three-star standard. While it does fulfill expectations for a three-star hotel, some guests note the property appears slightly aged and in need of renovation. The décor and bathrooms are dated, though updates are reportedly planned soon.
Guests appreciate its great location, which is considered one of its best features. As a typical Scottish hotel, it offers a basic yet clean environment. However, the rooms and facilities, including limited room service, are seen as quite basic. Additionally, the food and drinks are deemed overpriced relative to the hotel’s three-star categorization.
Service quality is generally seen as good, aligning well with its three-star rating. Though some suggest that the hotel sometimes doesn't quite measure up to three stars, it strives to offer a satisfactory experience. Overall, The Rosedale Hotel is perceived as a solid three-star hotel that could benefit from modernization.

Coolin View offers a charming experience with some notable positives, particularly its perfect location and lovely views. Guests find the hotel to be good value for money, appreciating the convenience of nearby parking just across the road from the property. Despite the compact rooms and the lack of wardrobes, many find the overall experience satisfactory. However, travelers should note there is minimal staff interaction and securing a parking spot directly in front of the hotel can be challenging. It’s also advisable to pre-book restaurants well in advance to avoid dining inconveniences. While not all guests received the rooms they had reserved, this issue was generally minor compared to the hotel’s attractive attributes.

The Royal Hotel offers a stay that reflects its three-star rating, presenting a mix of both classic charm and areas that could benefit from modern updates. Guests have noted that the hotel has character and provides a relaxed, clean and accommodating environment. Rooms are reasonably sized and comfortable, fitting the expectations of a standard three-star property. While the pricing is aligned with other three-star hotels, some visitors felt that the quality-price relationship could be better, describing the decor as dated and somewhat unattractive.
The property itself has an old-fashioned, downmarket appearance with dim lighting that adds to its somewhat outdated atmosphere. Despite these comments, the hotel remains a solid choice for those looking for a basic but adequate accommodation option, especially when considering the pricing in comparison to similar accommodations in the area. Overall, The Royal Hotel delivers a typical three-star experience with charm and comfort, though it could benefit from some modernization to enhance the guest experience.

The Sligachan Hotel has garnered mixed reviews regarding its classification and pricing. Many guests feel that it operates more like a three-star establishment while charging rates comparable to higher-end hotels. The general consensus suggests it is an expensive option with some finding the overall experience underwhelming. The quality of food and drink is described as average, not quite justifying the cost. For prices exceeding £200 per night, visitors expected better quality and service. It seems the hotel's service and facilities do not always meet the expectations set by its high charges.

The Skye Inn is an affordably priced option for those visiting the Isle of Skye, offering facilities and services that meet three-star standards. While some guests felt that the rooms were a bit pricey for a three-star hotel, many believe the establishment deserves a higher rating due to its overall quality. The amenities provided are basic but sufficient, though a few reviewers mentioned that certain aspects of the hotel could use some improvement. Notably, The Skye Inn stands out as a pet-friendly destination, having accommodated guests with a pet bird, which is a rarity among hotels. For those seeking good value and decent accommodations on the Isle of Skye, The Skye Inn is a solid choice.
