River Valley Lodge has a 'Sustainability Level 1' rating and actively practices environmental stewardship. The lodge uses natural filtration for its toilet systems with water reused for irrigation, grows much of its own fresh salad vegetables, and uses biodegradable and eco-friendly cleaning products. They also engage in stoat control to protect native birdlife.
