The Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Tinton Falls is favorably situated, offering guests a prime location that balances seclusion with accessibility. The hotel's proximity to highways, stores, restaurants, beaches and popular eateries like Applebee's makes it a convenient choice for both business and leisure travelers. Many guests appreciate the presence of in-room kitchens, which add to the convenience of their stay.
Opinions on the breakfast are mixed. Some guests lauded the variety and complimentary nature of the breakfast, while others noted issues with food quality, including reports of cold, stale or spoiled items.
Room reviews highlight spaciousness and a homely vibe, making them well-suited for families or groups. Well-equipped rooms with full kitchens were appreciated. However, the overall guest experience is marred by maintenance and cleanliness issues, such as dirty floors, mold, musty smells and outdated furnishings.
Cleanliness emerges as a significant concern with frequent reports of dirty facilities, hair and dirt in bathrooms and sinks and unpleasant odors. Specific complaints included bloodstains, moldy shower curtains and sightings of roaches. Both the exterior and communal areas, including aisles and the pool, were reported to be unclean, indicating a need for substantial improvements in this area.
The staff, on the other hand, receive high marks for their friendliness, politeness and helpfulness. Guests consistently praised the front desk and breakfast staff for their courteous and professional demeanor, though there were occasional mentions of unresponsive service.
WiFi connectivity appears to be problematic with guests frequently experiencing spotty signals, disconnections and challenges in reaching their rooms. Despite being a common issue, service fixes were not adequately addressed during guests' stays.
The comfort of the beds received mixed feedback. While some guests reported a good night's sleep with comfortable beds and pillows, numerous others found the mattresses too soft, old and sagging, leading to discomfort. Structural issues such as broken or off-frame beds and cleanliness concerns like stained bedding were also noted.
In summary, while the hotel's advantageous location, spacious rooms and friendly staff are highlights, significant improvements are needed in cleanliness, maintenance, WiFi connectivity and bed quality to enhance the overall guest experience.
