The Queen Mary was one of the greatest ocean liners of the 20th century. However nearly 50 deaths have occurred here. Nowadays, also paranormal tours are made on The Queen Mary for the tourists. Guests of the hotel, talk about the ghost of a sailor that died during a fire and of one of a small girl that broke her neck in the pool area. Also guests talk about spirits of women in 1930's style bathing suits around the pool.

The Stanley Hotel opened in 1909 and the first ghost report was in the 1950s. It is said it is the ghost of the housekeeper who died in an explosion short after the hotel's opening. 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa is considered to be America's most haunted hotel. Some of the ghosts haunting this hotel are an Irish stonemason, that died while the hotel was being built in 1885 where now is the room 218, another one is a former cancer patient's ghost, from the era that the hotel was a cancer hospital. Also, Norman Baker's spirit and a mystery patient's spirit that is said to be appearing in the luxury suites.

Jekyll Island Club Hotel is rumored to be haunted by the banker J. P. Morgan who during his stay at the hotel, was smoking his cigars every morning at 5 in the morning. Several guests say they have smelled cigar smoke the same hour of the day. Place d'Armes Hotel is a popular spot on haunted walking tours in New Orleans. In the 1800s, when the building was used as a school, a ghastly fire took the lives of several students and teachers. Today, many guests have reported that they can hear footsteps, children’s laughter and the sound of furniture moving in unoccupied rooms. Some ghosts have also apparently been sighted, including a young girl who asks where her grandmother is before vanishing into thin air and an elderly bearded man dressed in old-fashioned clothes who gives a friendly nod of acknowledgment before he disappears.

The hotel's founder, Charles Pfister, died in 1927 and is said to haunt the premises of the hotel ever since. His ghost has been spotted standing near the main staircase or wandering around the ballroom and on the 9th floor. Guests have also reported their electronic devices being turned on and off, hearing disembodied footsteps and strange knocks, seeing flickering lights and items that move on their own.

Honorable judge John P. Slough, was involved in an argument in the hotel's lobby in 1867 resulting to his death. His spirit is supposed to be haunting this hotel. A report of a guests says that he was hearing footsteps late into the night and he complained to the front desk. The receptionist went to check the noises, and he saw a main with long black coat into the stair but when he followed the man, he disappeared. The long black coat was a signature accessory of the late judge.

Dating back to 1796, this former plantation house has more than just one spooky story to tell. The most famous ghost wandering around the hotel is Chloe, who is believed to be the ghost of a slave woman who was a servant in the house in the 1800s. Ghostly apparitions have also been captured in photographs that have been taken at the hotel's premises, while the hotel itself has been named as "The South's Spookiest House" by National Geographic Explorer.

The Hotel Provincial is rumored to be haunted. Over the years several seances have taken place in the hotel and some of them resulted in ghost revealing. Also, the spirit of the soldier is believed to be haunting the hotel with several reports saying that have seen his spirit materialize before disappearing again. Congress Plaza Hotel is certainly not for the faint of heart. The elevator regularly stops at floor 8, even when the button has not been pressed, while on floor 12 one of the doors has been barred from the outside for no apparent reason. A gloved hand has been seen sticking out of a wall and it is believed to belong to a construction worker who was buried behind it. Also, the ghost of a homeless person who was murdered at the hotel is also reported seen around its premises.
