Ancienne Maison des Templiers, located in the picturesque French countryside south of Paris, offers a serene retreat in a charming village with deep historical roots dating back to the thirteenth century. This boutique hotel is celebrated for its tranquil ambiance and French charm, nestled near a church in a quaint village that provides an invaluable sense of calm away from highways and bustling restaurants.
Guests consistently praise the beautiful decor and the well-maintained, clean rooms that contribute to the overall atmospheric experience. The lush garden with various seating areas and the appealing pool facilities complement the serene environment, offering an ideal setting for relaxation. Families find the ambiance particularly cozy and welcoming, enhanced by the friendly and hospitable staff, especially the attentive host, Philippe, who is noted for his kindness and helpfulness.
While the breakfast is described as simple and communal, it may be hit or miss for some guests seeking more traditional and diverse French breakfast options. However, the homemade jam often earns positive mentions. The dining experience includes well-received evening meals prepared by the owner and the convenience of an adjoining pizza restaurant, appreciated for its affordability and taste.
Most rooms are spacious, charmingly decorated and clean, although some may have shared bathrooms or occasional maintenance issues. The comfortable beds are generally favored, but there are mixed reviews regarding the quality and comfort of the mattresses. Despite some challenges with Wi-Fi reliability, the overall setting is suggested for those seeking a peaceful escape in the French countryside.
In essence, Ancienne Maison des Templiers stands out as a delightful and unique lodging option, perfect for a restful stopover or a short getaway, largely appealing due to its historical allure, serene setting and the warm hospitality of its host.
