Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Pilgrim Inn, situated in the beautiful Berkshires, is widely praised for its prime location, which balances accessibility and tranquility. It offers guests easy access to nearby attractions such as Tanglewood and the charming downtown area of Lee, as well as proximity to several dining and shopping options. This strategic positioning makes the inn an ideal base for exploring Stockbridge, October Mountain Forest, and the scenic landscapes of the region.
While the inn does not provide breakfast, guests appreciate the numerous nearby alternatives, including a well-regarded breakfast spot conveniently located across the street. Rooms at Pilgrim Inn receive mixed reviews, with many guests complimenting their cleanliness, spaciousness, and comfortable beds. Some rooms have been updated with modern touches, providing a pleasant stay. However, certain accommodations are noted for having outdated furniture and basic amenities, with occasional issues such as stale odors and maintenance lapses.
Guests frequently commend the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the inn, although the facility's age sometimes shows through older smoke smells and mustiness. Despite these drawbacks, the cleaning staff is recognized for maintaining commendable standards.
The staff at Pilgrim Inn is generally praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, particularly via phone interactions. However, the absence of staff on site, especially during check-in, poses a challenge for those who prefer face-to-face communication.
The beds are consistently highlighted for their comfort, with many guests reporting restful nights on large, cozy mattresses. While some guests encountered issues with bedding quality over time, the majority found the sleeping experience satisfactory.
In summary, Pilgrim Inn offers a convenient and affordable stay, particularly suitable for travelers prioritizing location and budget, with a few areas of improvement in amenities and in-person service.
