Mary's Motel in Golden receives widespread praise for its excellent location, making it an ideal choice for travelers exploring the charming small town. Situated in the city center, the motel allows easy access to a variety of restaurants, shops and cafes, as well as local attractions like Whitetooth Brewing and scenic walking trails. Despite its proximity to the highway, the motel maintains a quiet atmosphere, perfect for a restful night's sleep. The central location also positions guests advantageously for activities in the area with Banff National Park and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort nearby. The motel's good parking facilities and competitive pricing make it an excellent option for budget-conscious travelers.
The rooms at Mary's Motel are generally appreciated for being clean, spacious and equipped with comfortable beds, ensuring a restful stay. Guests commend the affordability and practical value of the accommodations, which include necessary amenities and a sizable outdoor area that pet owners particularly enjoy. While some rooms are noted to be slightly dated with occasional maintenance issues, the ongoing efforts to improve facilities are recognized.
Cleanliness at Mary's Motel is noted to have both strengths and areas in need of improvement. Many guests find their rooms neat, tidy and well-laid out with clean and comfortable beds contributing to a positive experience. However, some visitors report significant cleanliness issues, such as unclean bathrooms and old furniture, indicating a need for more thorough housekeeping and potential renovations.
The staff at Mary's Motel receive high praise for their friendliness, helpfulness and attentiveness. Guests frequently describe the staff as courteous and accommodating, often going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Instances of room upgrades and efficient service contribute to the overall positive guest experience, despite occasional communication challenges.
The free WiFi service at the motel is generally satisfactory with several guests noting good connectivity. However, there are mentions of slow speeds and occasional interruptions, especially in reception areas. While there is room for improvement, the WiFi meets basic expectations for a budget-friendly motel.
The motel's pool facilities receive mixed feedback. Many guests enjoy the clean and refreshing outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna with special mention of the outdoor pool's appeal to kids. However, concerns about cleanliness and frequent closures suggest room for better maintenance of these amenities.
Parking at Mary's Motel is notably convenient with ample spaces often located right in front of the rooms. This arrangement is especially appreciated by travelers with lots of luggage or special parking needs, contributing significantly to the hassle-free experience at the motel.
Overall, the comfortable and clean beds at Mary's Motel are a highlight for many guests with most finding them satisfactory for a good night's rest. While there are some complaints about older mattresses and pillows, the general sentiment is positive regarding the sleeping arrangements.
