The Olympic Lodge is often lauded for its strategic location, making it a preferred choice for budget-conscious travelers. Its proximity to local amenities such as Stoke Mandeville Hospital, family-friendly venues, a stadium, and historical sites enhances its appeal. While some guests find it somewhat removed from the heart of activity, the lodge compensates with its reasonable pricing, spacious rooms, and a quiet environment that fosters a comfortable stay.
The accommodations are simple yet spacious, drawing appreciation for their cleanliness and functionality. Beds receive particular praise for being large and comfortable, contributing to a restful experience. The staff at The Olympic Lodge is consistently commended for their friendliness and helpfulness, with reception and night porter services notably contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. This supportive environment created by the staff significantly elevates the guest experience.
However, the lodge isn't without drawbacks. Guests frequently express disappointment over the lack of breakfast options, especially on Sundays, and the limited food variety in nearby cafes. Cleanliness, particularly in bathrooms, is another area needing attention, with aspects such as maintenance and proper cleaning falling short of expectations. WiFi issues, including occasional instability and difficulties in accessing the network, are also noted.
