Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Hotel Barão do Flamengo (Adult Only) enjoys a prime location in Rio de Janeiro, praised for its proximity to popular areas like downtown and the picturesque southern zone. The nearby Largo do Machado metro station makes city navigation convenient, while essential amenities such as supermarkets, pharmacies and various dining options are just a short walk away. The hotel’s closeness to Flamengo Beach, Flamengo Park and Copacabana Beach further enhances its appeal. Guests appreciate the quiet and safe neighborhood, noting that it provides a serene retreat amidst the bustling city. The hotel's cost-benefit ratio, cleanliness and attentive service from the courteous staff are frequently highlighted, making it an ideal base for exploring Rio's main attractions.
The breakfast at the hotel receives mixed feedback. While some guests appreciate the fresh and simple continental offerings served directly to their rooms, others find it lacking in variety and quality. Guests suggest improvements such as the addition of fruits, cold cuts and a greater variety of options to enhance the breakfast experience.
The hotel rooms are clean, cozy and well-organized, though relatively small. Mirrors strategically placed within the rooms add a unique touch to the decor. The efficient use of space and consistent cleanliness are notable positive aspects. However, there are some drawbacks, such as poor lighting, basic furniture and the absence of amenities like mini fridges and sufficient power outlets. Persistent cigarette odors and outdated, noisy air conditioning units are also mentioned as areas needing improvement.
Guests generally commend the hotel’s cleanliness with many noting its top-notch standards. However, inconsistent cleaning quality and occasional issues like mold and dirt residues are pointed out by some visitors, indicating that there is room for improvement in maintenance.
The hotel staff are frequently described as friendly, attentive and helpful, contributing positively to guests' experiences. Specific employees are often praised for their politeness and professionalism. Despite this, some reviews mention occasional rudeness and unprofessional behavior, particularly at reception, suggesting that staff performance can be inconsistent. There are also minor inconveniences for international guests due to some staff not speaking English.
Wi-Fi services at the hotel receive mixed reviews. Some guests report good connectivity in specific areas, but many experience weak signals, frequent disconnections and poor overall performance, especially in the rooms. The limited availability of power outlets near beds further complicates connectivity for those needing to charge devices.
The hotel provides free on-site parking with valet service, although the parking lot is small and spaces are limited. Guests sometimes need to rely on alternative transportation due to the scarcity of parking spaces. Nonetheless, the attentive valet service is a positive feature for those who manage to find space.
For nightlife enthusiasts, the hotel’s location offers easy access to lively areas like Lapa and Rua Catete with various bars, restaurants and nightclubs nearby. Despite some noise from street-facing rooms, guests appreciate the convenience of the location for evening entertainment.
Guest feedback on the beds is largely critical with many finding the mattresses uncomfortable and akin to gym mats. The bedding is often described as basic, contributing to an overall perception of discomfort. Upgrading the beds and bedding could significantly improve guest satisfaction.
Hotel Barão do Flamengo caters specifically to an adult audience, offering features like sex chairs, round beds and mirrored walls and ceilings to enhance romantic experiences. The bold, red-themed decor and amenities like adult movies create a sensual atmosphere. However, the motel-like ambiance, high turnover of guests and hourly usage may not align with traditional hotel expectations, particularly for longer stays or family visits.
Overall, Hotel Barão do Flamengo is recommended for couples seeking a romantic, pleasure-focused escapade in a well-located, clean and affordably priced venue. Improvements in breakfast variety, room amenities and Wi-Fi connectivity, along with upgrades to the bedding, could enhance the overall guest experience.

Augusto's Rio Copa Hotel offers a mixed experience for guests with disabilities. The hotel does feature accessible rooms that are spacious and convenient, contributing to a positive stay for those requiring such amenities. Parking is ample and generally accessible, though it's advisable to notify the hotel in advance to ensure a smooth experience. While the hotel's location provides great cost-benefit, some guests noted the absence of an access ramp, making certain areas less friendly for handicapped guests. It's important to manage expectations, as some reviewers felt the 4-star rating did not fully reflect the accessibility features. Overall, the hotel is safe and checks in guests early when rooms are available, though those with specific accessibility needs should communicate clearly with the establishment beforehand.
