Hotel Artos Interlaken has a unique concept of combining hotel rooms with a retirement home, which some guests found interesting for potential social interactions. The rooms are described as small but include all necessary amenities. However, some guests were disappointed as the property cannot be considered a real hotel and only has a 3-star rating. The atmosphere was likened to that of a nursing home and elderly residents seemed to be watching guests come and go. Other guests noted that they only saw other hotel guests during breakfast and did not feel it was value for money. Hotel Toscana has received mixed reviews, predominantly highlighting concerns regarding its three-star rating. Many guests felt that the hotel falls short of this ranking with some suggesting it deserves only one or two stars due to outdated facilities and issues such as mould on the shower curtains and ripped bedding and sheets. The decor and furniture did not impress and the hotel lacked amenities like flowers, flags, covered café tables or advanced room specifications typically seen in similarly rated hotels in other countries like the Netherlands, Germany or Belgium.
On a positive note, the hotel has been described as clean. Additionally, it is considered conveniently located, though some believe there are better hotels available in the same price range and area. Despite the criticisms, guests who did not expect much were somewhat satisfied with their stay. Overall, many believe the hotel does not justify its pricing and three-star status.
