Hotel Planalto is praised for its prime location in the heart of Poços de Caldas, making it a convenient choice for visitors eager to explore the city center and its attractions. Guests appreciate the hotel's proximity to downtown, tourist spots and the market, often highlighting the central position as a significant advantage complemented by friendly and helpful staff.
The breakfast offerings at Hotel Planalto receive generally positive reviews with many guests describing it as delicious, very good and even amazing. While some find it simple and reasonable in line with the cost, the overall good value for money aspect shines through despite the mixed opinions.
Room experiences at Hotel Planalto are a mixed bag. Positively, the rooms are noted for their cleanliness in some cases and a friendly ambiance, often mentioned as "Room smiled." Room service is also commended for being great. However, there are notable concerns about cleanliness with reports of moldy smells, visible moisture stains, termite damage and stained towels. Guests have also complained about improperly furnished rooms, broken furniture, ill-fitting doors and spider webs. The hotel's perceived old-fashioned nature might contribute to these maintenance issues. Visitors are advised to inspect their rooms upon check-in to ensure their satisfaction.
Cleanliness reviews are critical especially regarding the guest rooms and bathrooms. While the hotel's restaurants are described as clean and the general area is noted to be very clean, the bathrooms often appear dull and in need of extensive cleaning, particularly around the tiles and showers. Maintenance issues such as diminished facilities and occasional lack of water further diminish the guest experience. The hotel could greatly benefit from addressing these shortfalls in guest room and bathroom cleanliness to improve overall satisfaction.
