Summary of reviews related to the '4 Star' category
Summarized by AI
Landmark Resort in Nelson Bay receives mixed reviews regarding its four-star rating and services, while still maintaining a positive standing in several key areas. The rooms are notably roomy and impeccably clean with fresh towels provided daily. Guests appreciate the well-planned area and the great layout of the hotel. Additional perks include free parking and a pool, as well as the hotel's convenient proximity to local attractions. Many guests return regularly for 3-4 night getaways multiple times a year and many recommend the hotel. However, there are some criticisms; specifically, the pillows and blankets do not meet four-star expectations and the lack of air conditioning in bedrooms and units is a drawback. Some guests felt that the hotel acts more like a serviced apartment than a full-fledged resort and the facilities, while adequate, might not fully align with the four-star rating. Despite these reservations, the hotel generally satisfies its visitors with its layout, location and cleanliness.

Marina Resort, a four-star rated establishment, offers a reasonable price for its prime location near the beach, which boasts amazing views. Guests appreciated the value for money given the resort's pricing, characterizing it as a well-priced hotel.
However, some aspects fell short of four-star expectations. There were mentions of roaches in the restaurant, thin walls and old furniture. Additionally, some rooms had burnt carpets and outdated furniture. The resort has been described as very old and outdated with some guests noting the dated room furniture and the inconvenience of filling the tester from the bath tap.
During some stays, guests found the restaurant unavailable and services like breakfast or the sauna were not provided. Although opinions varied, some reviews suggested the resort should be rated lower than four stars with Google listing it as a three-star hotel.
Overall, while Marina Resort offers a good value for its beachside location, it needs significant updates and improved amenities to meet four-star standards consistently.
