Sonesta Simply Suites Jersey City offers a convenient location with a new and fresh interior that many guests appreciate. For those looking to stay in New Jersey on a budget, this hotel is often seen as a good option. However, some guests feel the price point is high, likening it to a two-star motel rather than a higher-rated hotel. While the hotel clearly aims to provide a budget-friendly option, there are some areas that fall short, such as limited room amenities, occasional housekeeping issues and a lack of views despite advance reservations. Overall, it is well-regarded for its fresh appearance and strategic location, though it may not meet all expectations in terms of value for money and service completeness.

Rodeway Inn Meadowlands offers a well-positioned location that is especially attractive for visitors looking to explore both New York City and nearby New Jersey attractions. With its proximity to public transportation, guests find it convenient to reach Manhattan's Times Square and other iconic sites without immersing themselves directly into the city's hustle. Additionally, being close to MetLife Stadium and various local shopping areas enhances its appeal for sports enthusiasts and shoppers alike. The availability of parking and nearby dining options further adds to the hotel's strategic convenience.
Despite the favorable location, guests often express disappointment with various aspects of the hotel. The most notable issue concerns the absence of a promised continental breakfast, which has left many feeling let down, possibly due to lingering pandemic precautions. Breakfast once appreciated, is now missing, creating dissatisfaction among patrons.
Room size at Rodeway Inn Meadowlands is a positive standout feature, with spacious accommodations contributing to a sense of comfort for guests. However, the overall experience is marred by significant cleanliness issues. Reports of pests, unpleasant odors, and outdated facilities overshadow the comforts of space. Visible wear and the need for renovations highlight the disconnect between guest expectations and reality, emphasizing the need for immediate improvement.
Cleanliness across the hotel remains a major concern, with pervasive smoke odors, dust accumulation, and evidenced neglect in maintenance affecting visitor experience negatively. Complaints about stained and unwashed bedding increase the discomfort, pointing to a need for enhanced cleaning practices throughout the premises.
Staff interactions showcase mixed reviews, with some visitors appreciating the ease of 24-hour service and having positive exchanges with certain employees. Nonetheless, the overall sentiment leans towards dissatisfaction due to unprofessional behavior and insufficient assistance, notably at the front desk.
Bed quality receives varied reactions, with some appreciating comfortable and spacious options, while others face issues with outdated, uncomfortable mattresses and poorly maintained linens. While there are comfortable options available, inconsistent quality necessitates guests to temper their expectations during their stay.
Overall, Rodeway Inn Meadowlands presents a hotel with a prime location and spacious rooms, but it faces considerable challenges in service quality, cleanliness, and maintenance, detracting from the potential for a truly pleasant stay.

The 'Courtyard By Marriott Jersey City Newport' offers a convenient location just steps from the PATH train to Manhattan, making it an attractive option for travelers visiting New York City. Guests appreciated the overall experience but noted some areas for improvement. The hotel does not have safes in the rooms and the cleaning service received unfavorable remarks. La Quinta by Wyndham Secaucus Meadowlands holds a consistent three-star rating, making it a decent option for short stays or business trips. While the infrastructure does show signs of age, the hotel provides clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds, ensuring a reasonable degree of comfort. The cleanliness extends to the pool and breakfast area, where a good breakfast spread is available above the usual offerings for hotels in this class. The hotel also stands out with its budget-friendly rates, providing great value for money despite some needed repairs and updates.
The staff receives high marks for friendliness, flexibility and maintaining a clean environment. However, the property’s outdated décor and old furnishings do bring down the overall experience. Several reviews highlight the necessity for significant renovations to bring about a more enjoyable stay. Despite its mid-tier ranking and common issues like dated rooms and infrastructure, the hotel's clean environment, reasonable pricing and reliable service contribute to a pleasant, albeit basic, accommodation experience.
