What is the history of the property?
The castle belongs to a large family of humanists, that of the Marquis de Saporta and Fonscolombe.
Its members distinguished themselves in science and arms, especially in medicine and botany, as evidenced by their creative friendship with Rabelais and their correspondence with Darwin.
It has been sold in 2014 and after 18 months of restoration it became a five stars hotel in June 2017.

It has been totally restored in 2016

The Castle is listed as "Historical Monument" and the Parc is also classified.

Queen Elizabeth's mother visited the Castle in 1965 and planted a tree in the Parc. She also stayed in a room called the "Chambre de la Reine"
