Richmond Hotel & Suites in Dhaka is widely praised for its strategic location, particularly valued by travelers due to its proximity to Shahjalal International Airport. Being just a 10 to 15-minute drive away, it is an ideal choice for those with early flights, late arrivals, or in transit, complemented by an efficient, complimentary shuttle service. The hotel is conveniently situated on a main road, making it accessible for both international visitors and local residents of nearby Uttara. This advantageous location, combined with friendly staff and good cost-value balance, enhances its appeal as a practical accommodation choice.
The breakfast experience, although not extraordinary, is generally appreciated for its basic but satisfying offerings. With dishes like omelets, bold eggs, toast, and coffee being highlighted, guests find it a decent addition to the stay, especially given the low-cost package. However, there is some feedback indicating room for improvement in both variety and quality, suggesting that a more diverse menu could further enhance guest satisfaction.
Rooms at the hotel offer a mixed experience. Positively noted for their spaciousness and comfort, some rooms also provide pleasing views and modern decor, close to airport convenience. Cleanliness is typically adequate, with some rooms maintaining a high level of tidiness. Yet, issues such as old furnishings, dampness, and malfunctioning air conditioning systems are mentioned, pointing to a need for refurbishment. The overall room experience is satisfactory, reflecting value for money, with recommendations for certain quieter rooms like room 305 for those looking to avoid traffic noise.
Cleanliness receives varied reviews, with some guests noting clean, bug-free rooms and a generally quiet environment. Nevertheless, complaints about discolored linens, odors, and outdated decor suggest areas for improvement, especially concerning pest management and ventilation. Despite this, many guests still appreciate the accommodation for its overall ambience and the excellent service received.
The staff at Richmond Hotel & Suites are consistently lauded for their friendliness and helpfulness. The restaurant and front desk teams, in particular, are commended for their courteous nature and professionalism, significantly enhancing the guest experience. While isolated instances of unprofessional behavior are noted, the majority of feedback reflects a positive atmosphere fostered by an approachable management team and attentive staff, ensuring guests feel welcomed and well-cared-for during their stay.
