Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Hotel-Restaurant Olympia enjoys a strategic and convenient location, praised for its accessibility to major transportation hubs and amenities. Positioned just two minutes from the train station and adjacent to bus route 19, guests can easily reach destinations, including Ternscher Lake in Selm. Despite being centrally located, the hotel maintains a tranquil environment. The nearby shops, bakeries and a coffee shop are notable conveniences, compensating for the hotel's lack of on-site breakfast services. Furthermore, guests benefit from free parking and robust internet connectivity, enhancing the overall value.
Though the hotel does not serve breakfast, various nearby bakeries and shops such as Lidl and REWE provide multiple options within walking distance, accommodating the morning routines of its guests effectively.
Dining at Hotel-Restaurant Olympia is a highlight with an exceptional Greek restaurant located on the ground floor. Guests revel in the delicious, generously portioned meals at reasonable prices, often enjoying their food in the beautifully appointed beer garden. The restaurant and bar create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, complemented by seamless service that makes the dining experience delightful and hassle-free.
The rooms receive mixed feedback with some guests finding them calm and functional, while others note dated furnishings, small sizes and insufficient soundproofing. Notably, rooms under the roof can become warm in hot weather and steep stairs to the second-floor rooms present a challenge. Despite these concerns, the rooms are viewed as acceptable for short stays, though improvements in comfort and noise insulation would enhance the experience.
Cleanliness opinions vary with many finding the hotel quite clean but some citing specific issues such as dirty sockets and mirrors and occasional lapses in room and bathroom cleanliness. Nonetheless, the hotel’s affordability and practicality make it a suitable choice for short breaks, especially considering its proximity to Lake Park.
The staff at Hotel-Restaurant Olympia receive noteworthy praise for their friendliness and efficiency. Guests highlight the warm and professional check-in process and commend both the management and staff for their helpfulness and attentiveness, particularly in the restaurant. Overall, the welcoming and efficient service significantly enriches the guest experience, making stays at the hotel more enjoyable and memorable.
